My Mom and grandparents are gone now but I have always continued to visit with relatives in Harlan every summer. One of the great things about Harlan is that changes very little. However, I always tell my two teenagers that some of the smartest people they will ever meet come from the mountains of Kentucky and may have never finished high school!
